Event reportage

Reportage is a style of photography where the photographer simply captures what is happening around without interfering or guiding the actions of anybody, so when covering events ideally they don’t even notice your presence or you affect it minimally. There is also a lot of a lack of control over the situation for the technical aspects of photography, so you need to be ready for anything to happen. Must admit there have been times when I have wished for a more recent camera like a Sony Alpha A7 which has almost legendary status for taking images in low light 🙂

I have covered various events from being part of the royal press rota for a visit by HRH the Duchess of Cornwall to visiting dignitaries such as Professor Robert Winston, to covering corporate events.
