I love being a father (well most of the time… there are the odd occasions when I could tear my hair out :-D) and from when he was born I’ve been looking after Benjamin part of the week while he’s too young to go to school. If it’s possible, I try to take Benjamin out for a little bit of a trip and on this occasion it was to Burnham Beeches, ancient beech woodland owned by the City of London and a favourite haunt of ours. We’d already bumped into the British White cattle grazing and I knew about those being used to help maintain the ecosystem, but I didn’t know about the Exmoor Ponies. So we were both surprised when we came across these walking towards us and was impressed at Benjamin who just stood still and held his hand out flat (no food!). I think they took a like a Ben because they come over to investigate and he just stood still in wonderment and I got the opportunity to take a few photos.
I can’t promise scenes like this if you come on a family or individual portrait photoshoot, but it does capture a style of photography that I love and images that tell something of a story.
